In September 2025 S&P Global Ratings raised the city's ratings to A+, pointing to a continued improvement in El Cerrito's financial position and stronger financial management policies and practices.

That is money back in the pockets of residents, because a city that borrows at better rates spends less on interest and more on services.

Housing that works for El Cerrito.

El Cerrito is mostly a city of single-family neighborhoods, but around our two BART stations, where new apartments are going up close to transit, we’ve found space for more housing.

That is the right place for growth: near trains, near shops, and off the residential streets.

I have worked with BART on transit-oriented development at El Cerrito Plaza and Del Norte, and I will keep making sure new housing comes with the infrastructure and services to support it.

Transparency.

Government that residents can see into is government residents can hold accountable.

That was my first-term commitment and I will carry it into a second term.

Public safety residents can count on.

The Council has been dedicated to keeping our police department staffed and accountable, and sustaining the prompt emergency response times we have now.

Jobs and new businesses.

We are bringing new businesses to El Cerrito and growing the economic base that pays for everything else.

This is where I have the most direct professional experience and where I will continue to have an outsized impact.

Streets and the basics.

Throughout my time in office, we’ve set out to repair our streets, sidewalks, and storm drains while keeping our youth programs open and affordable.
